WATT Factory

WATT Factory is a coworking space in the Brugse Poort neighborhood of Ghent, designed for entrepreneurs, startups, and freelancers who work there every day. A comfortable workspace goes without saying. Reliable internet is essential, too, because without it, the whole concept grinds to a halt.

Meanwhile, WATT continued to expand with WATT The Health. A comfortable workspace goes without saying. So does reliable internet—because without it, the whole concept grinds to a halt.

A network that had seen better days

After years of growth, WATT Factory’s existing network was no longer up to par. It couldn’t keep up with the demands of a modern work environment, and users were feeling the strain. But WATT Factory wanted more than just a quick stopgap solution. They wanted a network they could manage themselves, one that wouldn’t tie them to a single vendor, and one that could serve as a blueprint for future locations.

Three specific needs were the focus:

    Verification without Dependency

WATT Factory wanted to be able to adjust settings and manage systems on its own, without having to rely on an external party every time. That requires a platform that is intuitive and designed for people who aren't network engineers.

    Freedom of Choice

Sticking with a single supplier was not an option. They were looking for an approach based on open standards, so they would always retain the freedom to choose the right technology.

    A template for the future

With plans to expand to multiple locations, WATT Factory wanted a network design that could be deployed over and over again—quickly, consistently, and without compromising quality.

Ready for today. Built for tomorrow.

We installed two fiber-optic lines to ensure sufficient bandwidth, even during peak times. A failover solution ensures continuity if the fixed line experiences a temporary outage. Using TP-Link Omada, we built a managed network that can be managed centrally, without requiring any technical knowledge on the part of WATT Factory.

Through amplr.cloud, they create tenant profiles, set access rights, and monitor network usage. Visitors connect via a separate guest network, completely isolated from the corporate network. Issues are proactively detected and, in most cases, resolved remotely, without WATT Factory having to pick up the phone themselves.

One network. Ready to repeat.

With this foundation, WATT sets up every new location quickly and in the same way. That scalable model has now taken concrete shape with the addition of WATT The Health. The same network quality. The same management platform. The same approach, from day one. Users work without interruptions and never have to search for the right Wi-Fi network.

If something does go wrong, Amplr is there as the first point of contact. No referrals, no anonymous ticket system. The network has become something WATT no longer has to think about—which was exactly the intention.

“You rarely see a technology-agnostic approach with a simple management layer on the market.”
